September Volunteer shines in support of move

Marilyn ChaneyRetired after 28 years as a Belden department secretary, Marilyn Chaney’s role in the Volunteer Department has expanded in the move to the new Reid.

Chaney’s efforts have been recognized with the Volunteer of the Month Award for September.

“Marilyn has been an asset since she started volunteering with us in 2004,” wrote one of her colleagues. “Since moving on from Health Information Management to assisting Volunteer Department leaders, she’s doubled her time commitment.”

Another nominator noted Chaney, a Richmond-area resident, is always available to unselfishly help out on special projects and with extra days if need be.

”Marilyn’s office and administrative experience makes her input especially valuable as we settle in to our two-site business mode,” wrote one Reid administrator.

“I love volunteering at Reid and never want to pass up any chance to be busy there,” she says.

She and her husband, George, have four children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her hobbies include crochet, knitting and reading.
