Courier volunteer earns honor

Imogene LimbreyLess than six months after retiring after 38 years at Kemper Cabinets, now Masterbrand, Earl Goble, a resident of the Losantville area, began volunteering at Reid as a courier and in Health Information Management.

Some 414 volunteer hours later, Goble has been selected Volunteer of the Month for April at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

“Earl is always happy and cheerful,” recorded one nominator. “He has a wonderful sense of humor.”

Other Goble fans noted that he goes out of his way to assist others and comes in extra, even on a Sunday, to help get things in order.

“All around, a great guy,” read a typical summation of the former network administrator.

Goble is active in the American Legion in Richmond and Hagerstown as well as in the Loyal Order of Moose. He reserves time for gardening and travel.

He and Patsy, his wife of 40 years and a comrade in the Reid volunteers, have three children and four grandchildren.
