November Ambassador cited for clinical excellence

Susan ReamAmbassador for the Month of November at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services, Susan Ream deploys excellent clinical and superb interpersonal skills, according to her nominators.

"Susan is an excellent counselor and very caring with her patients," one observed. "She is encouraging and supportive of everyone she meets."

Ream, on the Reid team a little more than a year, lives in Centerville and is a therapist in Out-patient Psychiatry and a social worker on the adult unit.

"Susan is an epitome of the C.A.R.E. standards," wrote one of her nominators. "She touches her patients" lives with wisdom, kindness and a great sense of humor."

"She keeps spirits bright with her wonderful sense of humor," noted one colleague," and she's ever eager to assist anyone with any task."

Another wrote that her upbeat, can-do attitude contributed materially to the cohesiveness of the department and added that Ream's sense of humor even extended to putting up with kidding about her crush on Jet's quarterback Brett Favre.

Originally of Logansport, Ream in 1996 completed a degree in social work at Ball State University. In 2000 she added a Masters from the University of Cincinnati.

"I could not have been more blessed than in working with the colleagues I have," Ream writes of her Reid experience. "Each goes out of their way to serve patients in the most caring way possible."

She adds, "The patients I am blessed to serve touch my life more than I can imagine touching theirs."

Ream and her husband, Brad, teacher and football coach at Centerville Abington High School, are the parents of Alexis, 4, and Aleah, 2.
