March Ambassador a master of change

Tracey DingwerthSuccessfully meeting and positively applying the constant change in her profession counted for much in elevating Tracey Dingwerth to Ambassador of the Month for March at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

A Reid team member since 1990, Dingwerth, a diabetes educator and an RN, also receives upbeat reviews from members of her classes and participants in the diabetes support group, all citing her thoroughness and the trust and respect she earns.

"Tracey always tries to understand change, and her ability to figure out a positive way to participate in change makes her especially valuable," wrote one nominator.
Also noted was her "golden rule of practice" to see co-workers and patients as if they were walking in her shoes and how she is able to make good decisions as a result.

"She has a wonderful rapport with her patients and works diligently to make sure each individual understands diabetes," reports one nomination citing her work with a support group.

Also praised was her enthusiastic focus on her own learning in order to make the patients' experience the best possible.

A 1985 graduate of Northeastern High School, Dingwerth completed a bachelor's degree in nursing at IU East in 1990 and joined Reid's pediatric unit the same year. She has since earned certification in diabetes education.

"God has blessed me with a job I love," Dingwerth says of her Reid career. "The amazing group I work with is an added bonus. As a team, we blend our talents to provide quality education and emotional support to our patients."

She and husband Chris, employed in Belden's information technology department, have a daughter and three sons, are active in the Fountain City Wesleyan Church and involved in its youth ministry.

"This award is really a reflection of the entire team of educators, which I am proud to serve beside," Dingwerth reflects. "To make a positive difference in peoples" lives, to empower them after what could be a devastating diagnosis, is so very rewarding."

Her confluent hobbies are photography and watching her sons play sports.
