Ambassador finds Respiratory Care beneath her wings

Mary FliehmanCharacterized as a breath of fresh air to her department – Respiratory Care – and golden to her co-workers, Mary Fliehman assumes her duties as Ambassador of the Month for April as a recently returned team member.

A resident of the New Paris, Ohio, area, Fliehman first joined the Reid team early in 2004 and interrupted her employment for a month in early 2007.

"She was missed terribly," wrote one of her nominators. "We are so glad Mary missed us as much as we missed her."

Nominators also endorsed Fliehman as a dependable, dedicated and loyal colleague who goes out of her way to make sure equipment is available and who follows up on any outstanding discrepancies without being asked.

"Mary is a professional and kind to her co-workers," one summed up. "She is a pleasure to work with."

Other nominators cited her reflexive reverence for Reid's C.A.R.E. standards, her uplifting smile and her dependable equilibrium.

Fliehman completed in 1982 a Ball State University associate degree in retail and marketing. Before taking up clerk duties in Respiratory Care, she worked four months as a transporter.

"I enjoy working at Reid because of the people," writes Reid's newest Ambassador. "By that, I mean patients, their families and Reid employees. The care that is given, the dedication to Reid's mission and the on-going exchange of smiles make it an amazing place to work. I'm grateful to be a part of it."

Fliehman and Paul, her husband of 25 years, have three children. He is an employee of Primex Plastic.
