Ambassador of the Month for May at Reid Hospital & Health Care Services will be Connie Minor, a physical therapy assistant in Rehabilitation.
“I worked with Connie for a year,” wrote one nominator, “and she truly made each patient feel special. She always has a positive attitude toward those she worked with and those she treated.”
Noted one of her colleagues: “She has the biggest heart I know of, and there is not a mean bone in her body.”
Several of Minor’s fans endorsed the verdict that she’s always ready to lavish additional help wherever needed on co-workers and patients alike.
“As a therapist, Connie is efficient and effective and is always willing to make adjustments to meet the needs of patients,” reports another nominator.
Other comments praised her as a great listener and a great friend, a team player and the owner of a smile that can light up the entire outpatient gym.
“I have never seen Connie have a bad day,” said one nominator with a gift for summation.
Minor, a 1988 Christmas gift to Reid, graduated from Richmond High School in 1975. After starting her Reid career as a Rehab secretary, she returned to school and earned an associates’ degree from Ivy Tech.
“I enjoy working at Reid because of the genuine concern we have in giving quality care to the people we serve – and that regard is the norm among us. Add a healthy dose of humor, and a job doesn’t get much better than this.”
Minor and her husband, Chuck, an employee of Richmond State Hospital, have two children; the younger, Benjamin, 19, is a student at I.U. Sarah, 22, resides in Arizona.
Through St. Andrew Catholic Church, Minor volunteers in special religious education for adults with disabilities. She also finds time for Circle U and Bible Study.
