Reid Hospital Ambasador of the Month

Ambassador selected from Reid Education

Melissa SchroederMelissa Schroeder, who has been a Reid team member for more than three years, has been chosen Ambassador of the Month for October for Reid Hospital & Health Care Services.

Schroeder worked in Radiology, moved to Central Scheduling and then to Education as department secretary, and her ambassadorship was supported by nominations from four departments.

“Melissa always goes above and beyond, always attempting to make my job easier,” reads a typical nomination. “Her enthusiasm for what she does is remarkable.”

Another nominator noted that Schroeder has made herself indispensable in the Education Department and enjoys learning new things.

“Missy,” wrote a former colleague in Central Scheduling, “is a beacon of happiness. She is kind, warm-hearted and willing to lend a hand.”

Observed another nominator, “She always interacts with her co-workers, patients and physicians with courtesy, a very positive attitude, respect and enthusiasm. Missy is truly an example of Reid’s excellence.”

Schroeder is a 1988 graduate of Randolph Southern High School and has taken courses at IU East and Ivy Tech.

She and Tim, her husband of 10 years, live in Lynn and attend Fountain City Wesleyan Church. He is employed by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Of their daughter, Mariah, 2, Schroeder says, “We were able to adopt with financial assistance through the adoption benefit, one of Reid’s many wonderful employee benefits. I’m proud to be part of an organization that is family oriented and assists its employees in such a generous and loving way.”

Schroeder says she views Reid as her home away from home and her co-workers as a second family.
