Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is skilled treatment that helps individuals achieve and maintain independence in all aspects of their lives. It gives people the "skills for the job of living."

Hand therapy

The sub-specialty of hand therapy treats problems of the fingers, hand, wrist, and elbow.

Treatment focuses on increasing muscle flexibility, strengthening, and mobilization of joints and tendons. It usually begins within days of the injury or surgery.

Lymphedema

Lymphedema is the abnormal accumulation of lymphatic fluid and is most commonly seen in the arms and legs. Lymphedema occurs when the lymphatic vessels are damaged or surgically removed and the fluid in the arms or leg is greater than the transport capacity of the remaining vessels.

Lymphedema is also common in breast cancer survivors. Approximately 5 percent experience lymphedema in the first year, while 30-40 percent will experience lymphedema during their lifetime.

Though lymphedema is incurable, it is readily treatable.  We offer a complete decongestive program for lymphedema and venous edema management run by our two Certified Lymphedema Management Specialists.
